CHP Officer Hospitalized After Crash near Bay Bridge
OAKLAND, CA (August 14, 2019) – A car sideswiped a CHP motorcycle on 80 Freeway westbound on Wednesday morning in Oakland.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on the Bay Bridge at approximately 7:20 AM. Based on a report, the CHP motorcycle officer was trying to pull over another driver when he was sideswiped by another car that cut across two lanes.
The motorcycle went down. After that, the paramedics sent the officer to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The victim was conscious and expected to recover.
An investigation is ongoing to verify the information and determine liabilities. However, no other information has been disclosed at this time.
