DOWNEY, CA (August 26, 2019) – Monday morning, two people were injured in a car accident when a car crashed into a building on Paramount Boulevard.
 
Officials reported the accident occurred at about 1:45 PM on the 8000 block of Paramount Boulevard.
 
Per reports, a red vehicle crashed into a watch repair shop at a high speed. As a result of the collision, the car caught on fire. Also, the impact knocked the power out of the surrounding businesses in the mall.
 
In addition, there were two male occupants in the vehicle. Both were seriously injured and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. However, there has been no update on their medical status.
 
Due to the collision, both directions of Paramount Boulevard were closed for a period of time.
 
It is unknown if alcohol and drugs were contributing factors in the accident. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
