Lanes Closed after Fiery 2-Vehicle Collision near Ellis Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 9, 2018) – A car caught fire in a crash on northbound Highway 101, early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 2:51 AM, just south of the Ellis Street on-ramp. Based on their report, there were two vehicles recovered at the scene. The first one was a green Honda Civic with major front-end damage, and the second was an unknown car engulfed in fire.
The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. The had not yet released a report regarding the conditions of the involved motorists.
The fiery commotion caused closure of the No. 1 and 2 lanes. Cleaning and clearing operations were performed in the area. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident. No further information has been released to the public as the investigation continues.
