TACOMA, WA (July 12, 2019) – All southbound lanes shut down on after car accident on 5 Freeway on July 10.
 
By 2:00 p.m., authorities diverted all southbound traffic to Highway 16 and 38th Street. By 2:30 p.m., traffic stalled up to Highway 18 in Federal Way. However, the two left lanes reopened at 2:40 p.m.
 
Authorities revealed that one right lane will remain closed until they recovered the truck.
 
The cause of the collision remains unknown. However, authorities noted that the rain fell during the crash.
 
According to WSDOT’s tweet, the lanes will remain closed until further notice.
 
Crews stayed at the scene to clear up some spills.
