68-Year-Old Candace Ann Zenor Dies After Crash on East 22nd Street in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (July 1, 2024) – On Saturday, 68-year-old Candace Ann Zenor died in a crash on East 22nd Street.
Zenor, driving a 2018 Nissan Murano west on East 22nd Street, attempted to turn left onto South Sarnoff Drive at around 9:15 p.m. when a 2018 Dodge Caravan struck her, according to a news release from Tucson Police.
Emergency responders transported Zenor to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The Caravan driver, a 35-year-old woman, also went to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives concluded that the Caravan’s driver was speeding, exceeding the 40 miles-per-hour limit, and was impaired at the time of the collision, the news release stated.
Charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
