Highway 97 Semi-Truck Crash Injures 81-Year-Old Calvin Anderson and 79-Year-Old Driver
Orondo, WA (April 15, 2021) – On Wednesday, a 79-year-old minivan driver was injured while police cited 81-year-old Calvin Anderson of East Wenatchee in a semi-truck crash on Highway 97.
The accident took place at around 2:00 p.m. seven miles north of Orondo.
Trooper John Bryant said Anderson was traveling in the empty semi-truck when it left its lane.
“The semi driver is going to be cited for driving too fast. He was the cause of the collision,” explained Bryant.
Meanwhile, the 79-year-old driver and his passenger sustained minor injuries. Rescuers took them to Central Washington Hospital.
On the other hand, Anderson was not injured in the accident.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
