Caleb Rodriguez Dies, Ezana Tessema Arrested after Fatal Solo Vehicle Crash on Rittenhouse Road in Queen Creek
Queen Creek, AZ (September 10, 2022) – Saturday morning, 18-year-old Caleb Rodriguez died, and three others sustained severe injuries in a solo vehicle crash on Rittenhouse Road.
Subsequently, police arrested 18-year-old Ezana Tessema for manslaughter and aggravated assault.
The fatal crash in Queen Creek happened on September 10.
PCSO said the vehicle was driving around a curve when it drove into the opposing lanes of traffic, hit a brick wall and electrical equipment.
Moreover, as the electrical equipment caught fire, it spread to the vehicle.
Rodriguez sustained fatal injuries.
A 17-year-old female is in critical condition and a 13-year-old female is being treated for serious injuries while the 16-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries.
Investigators said speed and impairment are currently being investigated as likely factors.
Tessema will be booked for manslaughter and aggravated assault in the Maricopa County Jail.
