VEGA, TX (February 28, 2023) – Monday morning, Cain Rangel-Ramirez and Olin Hood died in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 40.
 
The incident happened at around 7:40 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 40.
 
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Cindy Barkley, an eastbound semi-trailer struck a GMC Sierra pickup. Officers confirmed that the GMC Sierra was stopped in the outside lane of the roadway for still unknown reasons.
 
Then, the force of the crash pushed the pickup into the center median cable barrier and into the inside westbound lane. Then, a westbound semi-trailer later struck the pickup. The second semi-trailer overturned and erupted into flames after the collision.
