Bus Collision on North Cawston Avenue Injures 3 Students [Hemet, CA]

Hemet, CA (June 10, 2023) On Friday afternoon, 3 students suffered injuries after a bus collision on North Cawston Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the hit-and-run crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on North Cawston Avenue, just off of Highway 74.

Reports say that a white Toyota Camry collided with a Hemet Unified School District bus. Officials say that the driver of the Toyota was fleeing from another crash it was involved in earlier. Again, the driver of the Toyota fled the scene.

Officials say that 3 students on board the bus suffered unspecified injuries, while the bus suffered moderate damages due to the collision.

Medics transported the injured patients to a regional trauma center. Fire personnel and Hemet Unified School District officials arranged for the other children transportation.

CHP and Hemet police are searching for the suspect driver and vehicle who remains at large.
