Burke Madden Struck and Killed in Bicycle Crash on Whitelock Parkway
Elk Grove, CA (October 18, 2020) – On Saturday, 14-year-old Burke Madden died in a bicycle crash on Whitelock Parkway.
The fatal crash happened at around 3:19 p.m. when the victim was struck by a 2012 Chrysler car as he tried to cross the parkway.
Rescuers rushed the boy to a hospital, where he later died.
“Medical personnel did arrive on the scene, transported the bicyclist to the hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries that were sustained in the collision,” said police spokesperson Hannah Gray.
Moreover, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Investigators said it appeared that the pedestrian crossing signal was not turned on at the time of the accident.
Drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in this crash.
