1 Killed and 2 Hospitalized after High-Speed Chase near East Chestnut Avenue
SANTA ANA, CA (September 11, 2018) – A burglary suspect was killed late Tuesday evening and two others were hospitalized following a police chase crash on South Lyon Street. The identity of the deceased was not immediately released.
According to Santa Ana police, a deputy had tried to pull over a white SUV after seeing three people running from a high-end boutique in Tustin. At about 11 PM, the white SUV slammed into a tree near the intersection of South Lyon Street and East Chestnut Avenue.
The impact killed the vehicle’s front passenger at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver and a second passenger were transported to trauma centers in critical condition.
Several items, suspected to be stolen, were found inside the wrecked vehicle. Authorities are also trying to figure out whether or not the vehicle is stolen. In addition, they are also looking into the possibility that the suspects might be involved in a crime ring.
