26-Year-Old Bryan Zuniga Hospitalized after Chico Accident
CHICO, CA (February 19, 2019) – On Tuesday morning, 26-year-old Bryan Zuniga from Chico was injured in a car crash on Meridian Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 7:50 AM just north of Bell Road.
As per reports, a 2014 Volkswagen Passat driven by 35-year-old Katrina Orosco from Chico was traveling northbound on Meridian Road. She allowed her car to drift into the southbound lane onto oncoming traffic. Soon after, she struck a 1991 Chevrolet pickup head-on, which was driven by Zuniga.
First responders arrived at the scene, transporting Zuniga and Orosco to Enloe Medical Center for treatment and evaluation. They both suffered major injuries in the crash. Their current medical conditions are unclear at this time.
Both lanes of Meridian Road were closed following the crash for cleanup. A preliminary investigation began for about an hour, but the road has since reopened. No further details have been released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident.
