1 Person Dead in Jackson County Auto Accident on Highway 50

JACKSON COUNTY, MO (July 25, 2024) – Tuesday night, a brutal two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 killed one person.

The incident happened on US Highway 50.

According to reports, the crash involved a Chevrolet Cobalt and a Honda HR-V that both failed to stop at a stop sign, collided with the highway median, and went airborne. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Chevy to roll over, ejecting a 15-year-old passenger into the roadway. Also, the Honda struck the ejected passenger while Chevy landed on its top.

Moreover, responders confirmed that the ejected passenger died in the crash. Then, paramedics transported the 19-year-old driver of the Chevy and its 17-year-old passenger, and the 18-year-old driver of the Honda with two passengers, to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
