BAKER, CA (October 15, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a brutal traffic crash on Interstate 15 near Mile Post Marker 15 killed 3 people.

The incident happened just before 4:30 p.m. on northbound Interstate 15 near mile post marker 15 SBD 154.00 in San Bernardino County.

Officials reported that a 2013 Toyota Highlander was involved in the crash, driven by a 43-year-old woman from Santa Monica, CA. Two passengers, a 56-year-old man, and a 9-year-old girl, also from Santa Monica, were in the vehicle.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer toward the median, hit a metal guardrail, and crash into a concrete embankment. The Toyota ended up resting nearly vertically against a concrete wall in Kali Ditch.

Emergency responders arrived quickly but sadly pronounced all three occupants dead at the scene. It is unclear at this time if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
