1 Dead in Apple Valley Auto Accident on Bear Valley Road near Quinnault Road

APPLE VALLEY, CA (August 7, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a brutal traffic crash on Bear Valley Road near Quinnault Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at 6:44 a.m. on Bear Valley Road near Quinnault Road.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Gloria Huerta reported that initial findings suggest the sedan was traveling east on Bear Valley Road while the SUV was headed west when they collided. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, and two people from the SUV were taken to a nearby hospital.

Firefighters from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District requested an air ambulance to transport one of the injured individuals to a trauma center outside the area. Mercy Air then airlifted the person to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Bear Valley Road is currently closed between Central and Navajo Roads to allow for the investigation. 

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
