BONSALL, CA (February 3, 2024) – Wednesday morning, a brutal rollover crash on Interstate 15 and Old Highway 396 killed 1 person.

The incident involving two vehicles happened around 7:40 a.m. on Interstate 15m south offramp to Old Highway 396, said Officer Hunter Gerber with the California Highway Patrol.

Reports said that as an 18-year-old woman drove a black Jaguar XF on the off-ramp of Interstate 15, they stopped and pulled into the intersection of Old Highway 395. However, she crashed into an 86-year-old man driving a maroon Toyota Venza.

Upon first responders’ arrival, the man was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the woman, from Wildomar, California, suffered no injuries in the crash.

Moreover, the authorities do not suspect that driving under the influence played a role in the crash.

Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the victim’s identity as of this time.

CHP urged anyone who has information or may have witnessed this incident to contact the Oceanside Area CHP office at 760-643-3400.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
