MADERA COUNTY, CA (January 9, 2024) – Sunday night, a brutal rollover crash on Avenue 7 and Firebaugh Boulevard killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 7:00 p.m. when a woman drove a 2019 Jeep Wrangler, east on Avenue 7, east of Firebaugh Boulevard.

According to reports, the driver lost control, veered off the road, and overturned the Jeep. As a result, the Jeep landed on its roof.

Meanwhile, officers found the rear passenger of the Jeep outside of the vehicle.

Preliminary investigation revealed that she failed to wear a seatbelt and was thrown off from the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the driver who was wearing a seatbelt was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Moreover, the front passenger, also wearing a seatbelt, suffered no injuries in the crash.

Furthermore, the authorities do not believe that alcohol and drugs played a role in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
