Brutal Rear-End Crash on I-182 Injures 3 People [Pasco, WA]

Pasco, WA (November 19, 2024) On Friday afternoon, 3 people were hurt after a horrific rear-end crash on I-182.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the multi-vehicle crash happened at about 5 p.m. on Interstate 182 at milepost 7.

Reports say that 3 people sustained injuries in the multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 182 that occurred between the Road 68 and Broadmoor Boulevard exits.

Authorities say that a 51-year-old Yakima man driving a pickup truck failed to slow for traffic in the far-left lane. He rear-ended a Prius driven by a 35-year-old Pasco man. The impact forced the Prius into another pickup, driven by a 35-year-old Pasco woman.

Additionally, the second pickup veered into the median near the eastbound lanes. Although the woman was unharmed, her 15-year-old passenger suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital. The Prius overturned and came to rest on its roof, leaving its driver injured and requiring hospitalization. The Yakima man was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities attributed the crash to speeding and stated that negligent driving charges are pending against the Yakima driver. The current conditions of those injured are not yet available.
