BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 15, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, a brutal pedestrian crash on Taft Highway and Harrison Street killed 1 person.

The incident happened just before 2:31 a.m. on Taft Highway and Harrison Street.

According to reports, a pedestrian walked in the middle of Taft Highway and the driver failed to avoid him.

Reports said that the 60-year-old Bakersfield man driving west on Taft Highway approached Harrison Street when the crash occurred.

As a result, the 34-year-old male pedestrian from Taft succumbed to injuries at the scene. However, his identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.
