1 Dead in San Martin Pedestrian Accident on S Monterey Road and Roosevelt Avenue

SAN MARTIN, CA (April 24, 2024) – Monday morning, a brutal pedestrian crash on S Monterey Road and Roosevelt Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 5:20 a.m. on southbound Monterey Road, just south of Roosevelt Avenue.

Reports said that a 55-year-old Morgan Hill man drove a 1998 Ford Windstar southbound on Monterey Road at 50 miles per hour. Meanwhile, a 56-year-old Gilroy man attempted to cross the Monterey Road from east to west and went directly into the path of the Ford Windstar.

As a result, the Gilroy man succumbed to injuries at the scene. Also, the authorities ruled out alcohol and drugs as a factor in the crash.
