1 Dead in Folsom Pedestrian Accident on East Tidwell Street near Orchard Drive

FOLSOM, CA (April 3, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a brutal pedestrian crash on East Tidwell Street near Orchard Drive killed 1 person.

The incident happened just after 5:00 p.m. when a 67-year-old man on the road was struck by a vehicle between Orchard and Montrose drives, said Det. Andrew Graham, a Folsom Police Department spokesman.

Graham clarified that the incident wasn’t a hit-and-run and the driver remained at the scene.

Graham also stated that the crash and its causes are currently under investigation by the department’s Major Accident Response Team (MART). The MART is actively gathering information from witnesses to piece together the events leading up to the accident.

In response to the incident, a section of southbound East Bidwell Street was temporarily shut down to ensure the safety of motorists and facilitate the investigation process.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
