NAPA COUNTY, CA (March 18, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, a brutal pedestrian accident on Silverado Trail killed 1 person.

The incident happened at around 4:10 a.m. on Silverado Trail.

According to reports, a woman driving a southbound Toyota Rav4 on Silverado Trail struck a man who was on the road.

Despite life-saving measures, the man succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Reports said that the man was in the road, north of Oak Knoll Avenue after his car got disabled. The woman may have suffered visual impairment because of the headlights of the man’s disabled vehicle. As a result, it was difficult for southbound traffic to see the man.

Also, the authorities are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Meanwhile, officers clarified that there were “no indications” that the woman was impaired.

Meanwhile, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the victim due to pending family notification.

Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information that could aid in the investigation to contact the Napa Area CHP at 707-699-6300.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
