BYRON, CA (June 22, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a brutal multi-vehicle crash on Vasco Road and Camino Diablo killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on Vasco Road, south of Camino Diablo.

According to Contra Costa County firefighters, the crash involved two pickup trucks and a service van.

Officers confirmed that three people sustained injuries, two of them seriously. Then, responders airlifted the two seriously injured patients to John Muir Hospital.

Meanwhile, initial reports said that the crash left 10 people with injuries. However, at least three victims were hospitalized, including a 31-year-old man and a 40-year-old.

Moreover, firefighters extricated two victims from the wreckage. Meanwhile, two of the injured patients were transported by air while the other one by ground.

Also, the authorities declared one person dead at the scene.

Furthermore, the crash shut down Vasco Road in both directions and caused significant delays.
