VAN NUYS, CA (January 14, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, a brutal hit-and-run crash on Van Nuys Boulevard and Valerio Street killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 12:45 a.m. on Van Nuys Boulevard and Valerio Street, said the Los Angeles Police Department,

According to reports, a pickup driver traveling southbound on Van Nuys hit a pedestrian who was walking in a crosswalk against a red light.

Then, the driver left the scene without providing aid to the pedestrian or contacting law enforcement.

Meanwhile, the authorities described the vehicle as a white heavy-duty pickup with storage compartments.

Meanwhile, the 58-year-old female pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. Her identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.
