1 Dead in Tucson Pedestrian Accident on North 1st Avenue and E Fort Lowell Road

TUCSON, AZ (November 28, 2023) – Sunday night, a brutal hit-and-run crash on North 1st Avenue and E Fort Lowell Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. near the corner of North 1st Avenue and East Fort Lowell Road.

Public Information Officer Sergeant David Fritsch said that a man was struck and was declared dead at the scene. He also added that the person responsible for driving the fled the scene before they arrived.

Moreover, department officials temporarily shut down the roadway during their investigation. Also, the investigation confirmed that the vehicle was driving southbound on 1st, and struck the pedestrian in the curb lane of the intersection.

Meanwhile, the authorities have yet to find out where exactly the pedestrian was about the road and crosswalk.

Moreover, detectives urged the public to call 88-CRIME with any related information. Callers with tips can remain anonymous.
