San Diego, CA (December 2, 2023) On Friday afternoon, a 78-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash on 54th Street.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the auto-pedestrian accident happened around 5:22 p.m. in the 3700 block of 54th Street.

Reports say that an unidentified vehicle struck and injured the female pedestrian crossing the street.

Authorities say that the vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived on the scene.

Medics say that the woman suffered a fracture to her right pelvis, ankle and scapula, the patient was taken to the hospital.

SDPD is searching the suspect driver and vehicle who remains at large.
