1 Dead in Montgomery County Auto Accident on FM-1314 and Crystal Creek Bridge
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX (November 28, 2023) – Monday morning, a brutal head-on crash on FM-1314 and Crystal Creek Bridge killed 1 person.
The Caney Creek Fire Department responded to the scene at about 4:00 a.m. at FM-1314 on the Crystal Creek Bridge near Exxon Road.
According to the preliminary evidence, the 18-wheeler drove across the center line and collided with the trash compactor vehicle. However, the 18-wheeler with food products caught on fire.
Meanwhile, the trash vehicle crashed into the rail of the bridge, and its container fell off and into the creek.
As a result, the trash vehicle driver got trapped and was declared dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 18-wheeler driver managed to exit the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, firefighters responded to the scene and put off the fire. Moreover, the Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Department of Transportation also came to the scene.
Also, the incident spilled gallons of diesel and oil onto the road and went into Crystal Creek which feeds into the San Jacinto River and Lake Houston.
Moreover, the crash shut down FM-1314 between Exxon Road and Bert Brown while officials cleaned up the scene.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
