Robert Castellanos Dead in Pacoima Accident

PACOIMA, CA (July 24, 2023) – Sunday morning, a brutal multi-vehicle crash on 118 Freeway and 5 Freeway killed Robert Castellanos.

The incident happened at 2:48 a.m. in the eastbound Ronald Reagan 118 Freeway at Golden State 5 Freeway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig.

According to reports, a pickup truck and sports car crashed. Then, the man was trapped inside the sports car.

Firefighters responded to the scene and used hydraulic tools to free the man. However, he was later declared dead at the scene.

Also, the CHP initiated a SigAlert at 3:27 a.m. that closed down all eastbound lanes of the Ronald Reagan Freeway at the Golden State Freeway and diverted traffic off onto the Golden State Freeway.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
