1 Dead in Concord Bicycle Accident on State Highway 242
CONCORD, CA (November 26, 2024) – Sunday night, a brutal bicycle crash on State Highway 242 killed 1 person.
The incident happened at 8:49 p.m. on southbound State Highway 242. According to reports, a man driving a white Yukon struck the bicyclist in the highway’s slow lane.
The Contra Costa County coroner’s office has not yet released the name of the bicyclist as of Monday, and the CHP is continuing its investigation into why the individual was on the highway.
The driver of the Yukon remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, who determined that impairment was not a factor in the crash.
