1 Dead in Sacramento Bicycle Accident near E Commerce Way and N Park Drive

SACRAMENTO, CA (December 26, 2023) – Christmas morning, a brutal bicycle crash near E Commerce Way and N Park Drive killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 12:45 a.m. near E Commerce Way and N Park Drive.

According to reports, officers found a bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle driver who was allegedly driving under the influence. Meanwhile, the bicyclist was declared dead at the scene.

Also, responders took the DUI driver to an area hospital for treatment of injuries and was later arrested. The suspect will be booked once medically cleared from the hospital.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Officer hasn’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.

Furthermore, the Sacramento Police Department urged any witnesses with information to contact the dispatch center at 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-HELP (4357). Anonymous tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
