1 Dead in Newhall Bicycle Crash on Market Street and Railroad Avenue

NEWHALL, CA (November 26, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a brutal bicycle accident on Market Street and Railroad Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident happened at 12:42 p.m. on Market Street and Railroad Avenue.

Officers said that a vehicle struck a male pedestrian who died at the scene.

According to Martin Rangel, a spokesman for the L.A. County Fire Department, firefighters responded to the scene.

Firefighters responded to the scene at 12:44 p.m. alongside AMR ambulance personnel and pronounced the bicyclist dead. Also, the fire cleared from the scene at 12:55 p.m.

Reports from the scene said that the person was hit by a blue Mini Cooper as the cyclist was on the surface streets. Moreover, the authorities haven’t disclosed which direction the cyclist was going.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials closed the traffic in the area.

SCV Sherif’s Station officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
