1 Dead in Kings County Vehicle Crash on Iona Avenue and 14th Avenue

KINGS COUNTY, CA (February 27, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a brutal auto accident on Iona Avenue and 14th Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident occurred just before 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of Iona Avenue and 14th Avenue, south of Armona.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old girl driving a Hyundai Elantra headed east on Iona when she went through a stop sign.

Then, a northbound Chevy Suburban on 14th Avenue crashed with the side of the Hyundai.

As a result, one passenger in the Hyundai succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, another passenger was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Furthermore, officers do not suspect that alcohol or drugs were factors.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
