PHOENIX, AZ (May 20, 2023) – Thursday morning, a road worker died in a brutal auto accident near Interstate 10 and Guadalupe Road.

The incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. near Interstate 10 and Guadalupe Road in Phoenix.

According to Arizona Department of Public Safety officials, the crash involved a semi-truck.

Initially, the authorities blocked two traffic lanes for construction work. Then, a lift vehicle moved out of the closed area. However, a semi-truck crashed into the operator’s cage of the lift.

The impact ejected the operator, who worked for a sub-subcontractor for the Arizona Department of Transportation, from the cage and onto the roadway.

However, the victim succumbed to injuries at the hospital. His identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.

Meanwhile, the authorities reopened all lanes for commuters at about 5:00 a.m.
