1 Dead in Arlington Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 530 in Trafton

ARLINGTON, WA (October 20, 2024) – Friday night, a brutal 3-car crash on Highway 530 in Trafton killed 1 person.

The incident happened just after 7:00 p.m. when a black Chevrolet veered east onto Highway 530. Then, a speeding driver in a Ford F-150 pickup east on Highway 530 hit the Chevrolet from behind.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the force of the collision pushed the Chevrolet off the road and into a ditch on the right shoulder. The Ford pickup rolled onto its side and entered oncoming traffic, where it was struck head-on by a third vehicle traveling west on Highway 530.

The driver of the Ford F-150 was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased.

Highway 530 near Jim Creek Road was closed in both directions for several hours. The crash is still under investigation, but the Washington State Patrol indicated that excessive speed for the conditions was a contributing factor.
