AUSTIN, TX (June 28, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, a brutal 2-vehicle crash on S US 183 Highway and Maha Loop Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at 4:09 p.m. at the intersection of 9810-9912 S U.S. 183 Highway and Maha Loop Road, northeast of Creedmoor.

According to reports, a southbound vehicle drove across the yellow line and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.

Officers revealed that the incident involved a total of five patients, including two adults, two teenagers, and a child.

Meanwhile, ATCEMS confirmed that 1 adult succumbed to injuries at about 5:21 p.m. They added that the victim was the male driver of the vehicle that had crashed into the other vehicle.

Meanwhile, the other vehicle driver, a mother, was transported to South Austin Medical Center via ambulance in critical condition.

Moreover, an ATCEMS ambulance took her two adolescent kids to Dell Children’s Medical Center, both with potentially serious injuries. Meanwhile, her young child was also transported to Dell Children’s Medical Center with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

Also, the crash led to the closure of all lanes on US 183, said the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
