1 Dead in Lucerne Valley Auto Accident on Highway 247 and Bessemer Mine Road

LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (December 6, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a brutal 2-vehicle crash on Highway 247 and Bessemer Mine Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 4:20 p.m. on Highway 247, just west of Bessemer Mine Road in Lucerne Valley

The California Highway Patrol officers and the San Bernardino County Fire Department both responded to the scene.

According to CHP officers, they located an upright silver Ford Fusion and semi-truck with an empty 53-foot trailer off the right-hand shoulder of the highway.

Officers suspected that the Ford rolled over during the crash. They also found scattered debris across the roadway.

After the crash, the driver of the Ford succumbed to injuries at the scene, according to officers. Meanwhile, the coroner has not released the identity of the person killed in the collision.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
