HARRIS COUNTY, TX (May 7, 2024) – Monday morning, a brutal 2-vehicle crash on 6700 SH 6 South killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 10:00 a.m. in the 6700 block of SH 6 South.

Southbound lanes were blocked and remained closed until approximately 10 a.m.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, preliminary findings suggest that a male driver was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed in a Dodge Charger when he veered into the southbound lanes.

The Sheriff indicated that the Charger collided head-on with an SUV.

Meanwhile, the male driver of the Charger succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Moreover, a woman in the SUV was transported to the hospital in good condition.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
