Bruce Johnson Identified in Deadly Fresno County Crash; Charles Williams, Cristal Aviles, and Dyane Shadowens Injured
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (September 26, 2019) — A 56-year-old man, identified as Bruce Johnson of Sanger, died Wednesday in a multi-vehicle crash in Fresno County.
According to CHP, the accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. at Belmont Avenue and Newmark Avenue. It involved three vehicles: a Ford F150 pickup truck driven by 34-year-old Charles Wiliams, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 27-year-old Cristal Aviles, and a Hyundai driven by Dyane Shadowens.
Wiliams was driving the Ford westbound on Belmont and tried to turn left onto Newmark. The truck then entered the eastbound lane, putting it into the path of Aviles’ Chevrolet. The front of the Chevrolet smashed into the passenger side of the Ford where Johnson was. He died at the scene.
After that first collision, the Chevrolet continued moving. It crossed oncoming traffic and sideswiped Shadowens’ Hyundai.
Medics transported Williams to the hospital. On the other hand, they treated Aviles and Shadowens on the scene for minor injuries.
We offer our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of Bruce Johnson. And to those injured in the crash, we wish them a swift and complete recovery.
