19-Year-Old Sequim Woman Fatally Injured in Collision near Morse Creek
PORT ANGELES, WA (June 21, 2018) – A woman was killed late Thursday afternoon after her motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Highway 101. Washington State Patrol identified the deceased rider as 19-year-old Brooke Bedinger of Sequim.
The collision happened shortly before 5:00 PM on the 101 freeway at the bottom of the Morse Creek curve. Bedinger was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson XL883 when she lost control and crossed the center line directly in front of an oncoming 2006 Dodge Ram, driven by 22-year-old Tyler Michalscheck of Port Angeles.
Bedinger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by responding authorities, while Michalscheck was reportedly unharmed in the collision. The ongoing investigation revealed that neither of the parties involved were impaired at the time of the crash.
A GoFundMe page was created to assist Bedinger’s family with funeral expenses. Click on the link to donate.
Affected areas were temporarily shut down to make way for an investigation and to initiate clearing operations. Lanes were cleared and reopened at 10:13 PM. No further details have been released to the public at this time.
