1 Dead in Shelton Pedestrian Crash
SHELTON, WA (January 7, 2020) – A person died in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Highway 101 near Shelton on January 5.
Trooper Chelsea Hodgson with the WSP said that at about 8:00 p.m., the 53-year-old Brian Prouty of Shelton was on the shoulder at milepost 342 when a southbound minivan steered over and hit the pedestrian.
The driver fled the scene. Meanwhile, the medical responders came and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The deputies with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office also located the Astro van involved in the collision at a later time. However, the driver was gone.
The collision shut down the road during the investigation.
