One Dead and Three Hospitalized in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 154
Santa Barbara, CA (April 10, 2020) – Thursday evening, 22-year-old Brian Dul was arrested after a fatal DUI crash on Highway 154.
Authorities first received reports around 6:00 p.m., on April 9. The crash involved a blue Mazda 3 Sedan and a blue Toyota 4-Runner SUV.
According to CHP reports, one of the vehicles T-boned the other on its passenger side. However, the details leading up to the collision remain unclear.
Rescuers arrived to operate an extensive extraction of the person trapped inside the car.
As a result of the impact, four people sustained minor to severe injuries. In addition, emergency personnel transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Due to the impact of the collision, one patient succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
At this time, Dul is currently facing charges on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
Meanwhile, the details leading to this fatal accident are still under active investigation.
Commuters experienced a traffic delay in the area as authorities continued cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
