Brian Blythe and Jeanie Gilbert Injured in Yucca Valley Motorcycle Accident
YUCCA VALLEY, CA (September 14, 2019) — A motorcycle accident in Flamingo Heights left two people with major injuries Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 7:55 p.m. It involved a 2000 Suzuki TL1000R motorcycle and a 1992 Chevrolet S10 truck.
58-year-old Laura Harris of Yucca Valley was preparing to turn left at Eureka Road. While waiting for northbound traffic to clear, she stopped her truck in the southbound lane of Old Woman Springs Road.
A vehicle behind her was able to avoid hitting Harris’ truck. However, a motorcycle behind that vehicle could not. The front of the motorcycle then hit the rear of the Chevrolet.
42-year-old Brian Blythe of Joshua Tree was operating the motorcycle. His passenger was 42-year-old Jeanie Gilbert of Twentynine Palms.
The force of the impact ejected both Blythe and Gilbert from the motorcycle. They suffered major injuries as a result. Emergency responders took both of them to Desert Regional Medical Center.
On the other hand, there was no information on whether Harris also had injuries in the accident.
In the meantime, the investigation is ongoing. Drugs or alcohol were not factors as per CHP. Additionally, the officers said that everyone involved was using the required safety equipment at the time of the accident.
