Brian Allen of Marysville Killed in Highway 70 Suspected DUI Crash
Marysville, CA (May 02, 2021) – On Friday, 64-year-old Brian Allen of Marysville died, while 38-year-old Edgar Ernst of Rio Linda was injured in a suspected DUI crash on Highway 70.
Moreover, the Marysville fatal crash took place minutes before 5:00 a.m. near Feather River Boulevard.
Officers said Ernst was northbound on his Honda Accord at an unknown speed. His vehicle traveled across the center divider onto the southbound lanes of the highway and went in the wrong direction.
At this time, Allen was headed southbound on 2007 Kia Optima on Highway 70. His vehicle was struck by Ernst’s Honda.
Unfortunately, Allen died at the scene of the crash.
On the other hand, Ernst sustained minor injuries, including a laceration of his chin, and complained of back pain.
Furthermore, both cars suffered major damage. The Honda landed on its roof on the right shoulder of the highway and the Kia rested on its wheels, blocking two southbound lanes.
