Two Drivers Injured after Suspected DUI Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 50
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 23, 2019) – Two people suffered injuries in a wrong-way crash on Highway 50, early Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:20 AM. A 2013 Subaru Crosstreck, driven by 25-year-old Brett Austin Walter of Fair Oaks, was traveling on the opposite lane. There, the vehicle collided head-on with a 2002 Toyota truck driven by 29-year-old Justin Daniel Miller of San Ramon.
Firefighters had to extricate Walter from his wrecked Subaru. Then, emergency responders transported both Walter and Miller to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries. Updates on their current conditions remain unknown.
Authorities later arrested Walter on suspicion of DUI. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
