Bret McKinney Dies in Truck Accident South of Dos Lagos Drive
CORONA, CA (January 1, 2018) – Early morning on New Year’s Day, reports from the California Highway Patrol mentioned a body in the slow lane of the I15 North in Corona.
Officer Dan Olivas stated that Bret McKinney, 22 of Corona, was riding in the backseat of Volkswagen Jetta around 2:21 AM, when he inexplicably opened the door and fell onto the highway.
Shortly after, a large truck ran over McKinney and continued on traveling north. Olivas says that it may be possible that the truck driver was unaware of running over the man and the events that took place.
The driver of the Jetta stopped the car and immediately called 911. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the man dead.
Olivas says that it was probably a two or three axle tractor without a trailer. The authorities are investigating and looking for witnesses of the accident that took place on the 15 North Freeway, just south of Dos Lagos Drive.
