5 People Injured in Riverside Auto Accident on South Santa Fe Avenue and Pala Vista Drive

RIVERSIDE, CA (April 3, 2023) – Sunday morning, authorities arrested Brenden Hawkins following an eye-catching police chase crash on South Santa Fe Avenue.

The incident started at around 2:45 a.m. on Interstate 15 and Mission Road.

According to reports, a stolen white 2023 Kia Forte failed to yield to a traffic enforcement stop and started a police pursuit.

Then, the suspect vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed failed to negotiate a traffic circle. Then, they collided with a concrete traffic circle structure at the intersection of South Santa Fe Avenue and Pala Vista Drive. Also, the force of the crash pushed the vehicle to overturn and land on its roof.

Moments later, a patrol vehicle failed to stop in time due to dust and debris and crashed into the traffic circle.

Moreover, officers detained four occupants of the KIA. Then, paramedics transported the four to a hospital for treatment. Also, authorities confirmed that the officer that crashed sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Furthermore, officials arrested the KIA driver, 18-year-old Hawkins on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, and two counts of felony child endangerment.

Meanwhile, the incident remained under investigation.
