Brendan Bessee Dies in State Route 87 Traffic Collision [Meza, AZ]

Meza, AZ (April 09, 2022) On Friday, Brendan Bessee died after a tractor-trailer struck the ambulance he is driving on State Route 87.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) says the fatal crash happened on SR-87 near McDowell Road Friday afternoon.

Officials pronounced Bessee dead at the scene and a paramedic sustained major injuries due to the crash.

Additionally, the tractor-trailer driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, both patients were taken to the hospital for immediate care.

Authorities say that the tractor-trailer struck the ambulance as it was turning on SR-87.

Moreover, the ambulance was responding to an emergency regarding a pregnant woman.

Additionally, authorities closed State Route 87 in both directions.
