Rider Dies in Late Afternoon Crash on 57 Freeway in Brea
BREA, CA (January 19, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic collision Saturday afternoon on 57 Freeway in the Brea-Fullerton border.
The fatal collision happened around 5:42 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway, just East of Imperial Highway on-ramp.
Details of the collision were not made clear in the reports and media releases, but the unidentified rider was declared dead.
A SigAlert was issued in the area, blocking all northbound lanes just South of Imperial Highway, with traffic taken off at Yorba Linda Boulevard.
The HOV lane was re-opened at about 5:30 p.m. All lanes were re-opened at 7:55 p.m.
At this time, California Highway Patrol officials are in the process of investigating the incident and are looking for possible other motorists who potentially initiated the crash.
