BREA, CA – Driver Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on Associated Road

Fatal SUV-Truck Crash between Imperial Highway and Birch Street

 
BREA, CA (March 27, 2018) – A driver in an SUV died on Tuesday morning after colliding head-on with a pickup truck on Tuesday morning.
 
Authorities were alerted about the crash around 7:42 AM and arrived at the scene to find the two damaged vehicles with the drivers still inside. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the pickup truck was injured and taken to a local hospital.
 
Officers were at the hospital to follow up with the driver and find out if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. According to Brea police Lt. Adam Hawley, it was unclear why the pickup was going the wrong way. It was revealed that the pickup was driving northbound in the southbound lanes.
 
Authorities closed off Associated Road between Imperial Highway and Birch Street for investigation. No other information has been released at this time.
