2 People Injured After Motorcycle Crash on Pine Street in Abilene

Abilene, TX (February 20, 2024) – On Tuesday, 30-year-old Brayden Shockely from Merkel died in a motorcycle crash on Pine Street.

The Abilene Police Department arrived at the scene of a major vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the 4300 block of Pine Street in north Abilene.

The initial call to police dispatch indicated that multiple motorcycles were involved in the crash, resulting in several injuries.

Upon arrival, officers found that the crash had left one rider dead and two others injured. Witnesses reported that the three motorcycles had been traveling side by side northbound on Pine Street just before the crash.

Authorities have notified the next of kin, identifying the deceased as 30-year-old Brayden Shockely from Merkel. 

Emergency services transported the two injured riders to HMC for treatment. Speed is considered a contributing factor in this collision, while it remains unclear if intoxication played a role. 

The Traffic Division is still investigating the incident.

At the time of the crash, Shockley was not wearing a helmet.
